Firefox Tips & Tricks To Increase Internet Speed

Firefox, though widely used for browsing internet, often encounters with speed issues. Although it is one of the fastest browsers, it is unable to satisfy all its customers. There are many reports from users complaining about its slow speed. Keeping this in mind, we are presenting you certain tips to increase the internet browsing speed of Firefox.

The main reason behind the slow down of Firefox internet speed is that it uses very few connections to retrieve a data from internet. With this trick, you can increase the number of its connections. This will not only increase the speed, but also decrease the load time for a website.

1.    Open the Mozilla Firefox browser window and type “about:config” in the address bar and press enter

2.    You will receive a warning pop up. Click on “I’ll be careful, I promise!” (This allows you to make changes in the settings)

3.    Search for “network.http.pipelining.maxrequests” (This displays the number of connections your browser has)

4.    After you find the above setting, right click on it and then move to Modify and click it.

5.    Change this number to some bigger number; say 15-20 (This increases the number of simultaneous connection in firefox browser)

6.    Now, right click on blank space and click New->Integer

7.    Give it the name “nglayout.initialpaint.delay” and set the value to ‘0’. (This marks the waiting time taken by firefox to act on the data before processing)

8.    Search for “network.dns.disableIPv6” and set its value to true (This stops the delay time that occurs when an ipv4 address is given to an ipv6 capable dns server instead of the requested ipv6 address)

9.    Create Content Interrupt Parsing in the “ about:config ” window with following steps:
Right click on free space and then click New->Boolean
     Give it the name “ content.interrupt.parsing ”
Press Enter and mark its value to True

(“Content Interrupt Parsing” option decides whether firefox should interrupt rendering of a page, to respond to Ui events. However, this option is not present in firefox, by default. Hence, it needs to be created manually.)

Following the above steps, you can increase your internet speed to a considerable value.
